NoSql - Spinning Buzzword of Death or Soaring Eagle of Data LibertyThis is a featured page

with Robert Rees

This event will be held in the Kilburn Building, University of Manchester at 6:45pm on Wednesday 8th December 2010. The venue requires a list of names in advance so, if you'd like to come along, please register. You can just register by completing our online form.

NoSql is one of the most important developments in data architecture since the first SQL standard, it can cure cancer and is due to walk on the moon before the end of 2011. NoSql is an overhyped technology that make ludicrous claims, introduces sloppy thinking in systems architecture and kills kittens. Some of these things are true and to try and find out what's buzzword and what's buzzard why don't you come to our NoSql talk? There'll be slides, a Q&A, technology-willing a demo and hopefully some discussion.

Robert Rees is a consultant at Agile consultancy ThoughtWorks, working with a variety of clients across lots of domains. He works mostly with Java, UNIX and people. He is fascinated by data modelling, emergent technologies and the shock of the new. His main passion is doing
everything better all of the time.
