1. usability? and city centre?

Very interesting Agile talk the other night, thanks for organizing it Alex.

My suggestion for a future talk would be something around the area of usability testing, anything that helps us get away from the idea of "users are stupid" and closer to "only the users can tell us what they want". I'd specifically treat this separately from the functional UI testing that has already been suggested above.

As for the venue, I have no complaints about the facilities used, but I would have a slight preference for somewhere more in the city centre simply because it's easier to get home in any direction afterwards. But it's a small point, and I'd still amble my way down Oxford Rd for any future talks.

Hi Dan,

Thanks for your feedback - glad to hear you are enjoying the events.

I like your suggestion - connecting with the users is key to successfully deriving value from software. I've got someone in mind already who's an expert in this area, so I'll see about lining him up for a future event.

On the venue front, I agree that the city centre might be more convenient for many people. However the University very kindly allow us to use their facilities free of charge, so if you're aware of any venues in the centre that we could use free of charge do let us know.

Great set of talks so far! Id be quite interested to hear some talks around the topics of architecture in general. Perhaps covering some of the popular topics of REST and/or SOA? On a separate note maybe some talks around functional programming if possible? Do you find this valuable?
